Guide to Luxembourg Findel Airport

This spoot is ideal when runway 24 is in use. You can take the pictures of planes on the approach (recommended lens 100-300 mm), and planes taxing for the tak-off (18-70 mm, ladder recomended).

Best time to take pictures from that spot is 15-18 in the summer, before you can get a backlit. To get to the spot, you need to take the Cargo exit from the A1, take the Neuhausen exit and next right. there are plenty of parking spaces.

A nice spot with the overview of the Cargo parking area, and the begining of lane 24. Good spot to take pictures of planes touching down and taxing for the departure from lane 24. 200-400 mm recommended as it is quite far from the runway.

Best time of the day is 16-19 in the summer, backlit before.

To get there take the Airport exit from A1, at the rundabout take the NH hotel exit, drive pass the hotel, turn second left and park in the big parking lot behind the hotel.

To get to this spot, you need to follow the same directions as to Cargolux Parking Lot, exit higway at the Cargolux exit, follow the road to Neuhausen, drive underneath the runway, and take the first right gravel road. You will have to leave the car at the gravelparking lot, and follow airports fence to get to the clear area with no trees.

Ladder - required, can be a 3-steps one in the area with no razorwire, or the full ladder for the rest of the fence.
Timing - this spot has good light conditions from early morning till around 13:00 in the summer.
Runway coverage - landings and take-offs from Runway 24, taxing to runway 24, takeoffs fom runway 06, all operations near the cargolux hangar.
Lens required - from 70 mm for landing 747s to 400 mm for takeoffs from 06.

There are no shops or gas stations around, so if you plan to spend more time there bring some water, as it gets hot in the summer.
