One of the busiest holiday airports, Alicante offers a wide range of mainly charter and low cost traffic year round. Its one runway ensures that you can get in position and see everything arriving and departing.
Photography is also good at the airport with a dirt track running parallel with the runway for most of its distance and mounds to climb on and get a view above the fence at a number of points along the road.

Photo Spot Spot A - Southside Runway 28 End

Drive further down the dirt track and theres an area to shoot take-off from runway 10. Again theres an area to park the car and a much smaller mound than that of spot 1. You may get 2 people on this mound but anymore and you'll start to get in each others way.
Shooting to your left again you can usually get some nice shots of aircraft rotating as its in a great position for most departures. Some aircraft go that little bit further and you can get some side-on rotating pics.
Again your very close to the action here, so a 100mm lens on a digital SLR is too close for a full side on shot of a 737-800 or bigger, there is the oportunity again of some nice more head-on close-up shots for those with bigger lenses.
Sun position is good until the early afternoon for shooting to your left again, side-ons and any shots to your right can go on until the evening.

Photo Spot Spot B - Southside Runway 10 End

Pull onto a dirt track just off the CV-849 road. Theres a small area to park your car and a mound to stand on to get over the fence and shoot the arrivals on runway 10. Theres enough room for a lot of people on here.
You are quite close here, 100mm on a digital SLR is too much for a 737-800 or bigger fully side on. With a bigger lens though you can get some nice - more head on like close-up shots of aircraft touching down.
Sun wise the area is good shooting arrivals to your left up until early afternoon when you start to look more towards the sun.
