Humberside Airport is a growing regional airport, located between Scunthorpe and Grimsby in North Lincolnshire. It is owned by Manchester Airport plc, with a minority stake held by North Lincolnshire Council.

The airport has two scheduled passenger services. KLM operate to Amsterdam and Eastern operate to Aberdeen. Eastern are based at the airport and it is not uncommon to see one of their Jetstreams. Freight flights are provided by Icelandair, bringing in fish from Iceland.

There are between 25 and 30 charter flights each week in summer to the Canaries, Mainland Spain, the Baleraics, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Turkey. In winter there are about 10 flights a week. Operators include Air Europa, BH Air, First Choice, Futura, MyTravel, Sun Express and Thomsonfly/Britannia. For Summer 2006, Excel Arwatys will base an aircraft for part of the week. These are supplemented by a year round programme of Special Departures and Day trips, so there is always a chance of seeing something different.

There is also a thriving general aviation community and a busy helicopter terminal, with flights to oil rigs operated by CHC Helicopters. The Humberside Police Helicopter is also based at the airport.

Car - Turn of the M180 at Junction 5. Go round the roundabout and follow signs for the A18. Keep on the A18 eastbound. You will go through the village of Melton Ross and pass a quarry. The turn of is on the right.

Train - Trains run from Manchester, Sheffield, Doncaster, Lincoln and Grimsby to Barnetby. Easy connections at Lincoln for Nottingham, Newark for London, Doncaster for the North East and Scotland and at Manchester for Scotland and the North West.

Photo Spot Spot A - Bus Stop

From here you should be able to see any planes on the apron outside the terminal, although your view may be blocked if there is more than one plane. All pictures have to be taken through a wire fence, though a camera lens should fit through the gaps.

Photo Spot Spot B - Car Park 1

From here you should be able to see planes on the runway if they turn round at the road end. Unfortuantely a fence has blocked views of the helicopter apron. All pictures have to be taken through a wire fence, though a camera lens should fit through the gaps.
