Photo Spot Spot A - Landside Lounge

The best place to get a feel of the airport movement's overlooking one of the region's longest runway and the ramp area it's like waiting in the departure's hall, but without leaving the ground!

The Landside Lounge offer's a resturant that offer's a meal with a view!

The Landside Lounge truley is the best place to see it all, and is worth a trip to see!

(Some locations may not be next to a road but the sat nav should get you pretty close using these co-ordinates)

Latitude: N53° 28' 51" (N53° 28.854')

Photo Spot Spot B - Old Bawtry Road

Old Bawtry Road in Finningley Village. This spot is adjacent to the runway and can get some good landing and take off shots here, although the fence can be a little obtrusive. From Finningley Village enter Old Bawtry Road and drive passed the Harvey Arms Public House. You eventually come to a open area, where other spotters/dog walkers park. From here, you can see across the airfield to the the terminal, however, for shots of parked aircraft on the ramp, you will need atleast a 400-500mm lens. Good landing/take off shots can be obtained here, if Runway 20R is in use. If 20L is in use, by time the aircraft reach this spot, they are overhead.

I have just called the airport to see if the public (aswell as passengers) could access the viewing lounge to be told that this was not possible.

I intended to go this weekend to treat the kids but not were all slightly disappointed.

Is it possible to go to the landside lounge without a boarding pass?

Many thanks
