Notes
The BBMF MkV banking around the top corner at Rougham. Besides the serial, AB910 wears the markings of AB502, the personal aircraft flown by Wg Cdr Ian Gleed over North Africa in 1943. A Battle of Britain veteran, Gleed's final Spitfire was marked with his initials rather than squadron codes, a common practise amongst officers of his seniority in the RAF. Gleed was shot down and killed whilst flying AB502 in April 1943. AB910 was repainted for the 2007 season.

Several Mig-29's have paintings of famous Polish pilots painted on the inside of their tail fins. This one is F/O Miroslaw Feric (1915-1942). Must have been quite a guy.

Notes
The Fighter Collections LF MkV turning over Duxford, showing this variants clipped wings. This wartime modification was intended to enhance low-level performance, particularly roll-rate, at the loss of performance at higher altitude. As the Mk Vs that were converted were already worn out combat veterans, they were known amongst their pilots as 'clipped, clapped and cropped' - espically when put up against the new Fw-190 over Northern France in late 1941.
