In May 2011, US Marine Helicopter Squadron HMX-1 deployed several VH-3D and CH-46E helicopters to Mildenhall in support of the US presidents visit to the UK and Ireland. Here 'Nighthawk 1' departs Mildenhall as part of a training exercise to the London heli lanes prior to the visit. The formation was escorted by Met police helo's the following night due to a few navigational errors!
