Yes this shot was taken from the end of 23L (looking down from 05R) follow the path from lady lane until you come to the landing lights. 2 min walk. Unfortunately the A380 does not take off from there these days. It now takes off from 23R, but you can still get decent shots from there too. When it first arrived at Manchester it used 23L for a while. I have another shot of it rotating from sort of sideways on from there on here too. But like I said it now just uses 23R for take off. D5000, 300mm f4 prime.

Sorry, you didn't say 23R you said 23L.
What is the access like there as on Google maps the road ends a fair bit from the perimeter fence. That is if you would use Lady Lane?

That is the dog's. it is brilliant, i go to MAN frequently for piccies but cant seem to work out where you took it from. When you say end of runway 23R do you mean you were stood effectively on / at 05L looking down the runway? is that by "the old tree" as was described to me.

What camera and lens do you use sir.

Thanks Chris for the kind words. This photo was taken from the end of Runway 23L. For a while the A380 used to take off from there but now it takes off from 23R, which is also pretty good for photos, but the new runway lights slightly obscure the action now.

absolutly amaizing shot of the airbus can i ask how u got such a striaght on view of the aircraft and where abouts it was taken?
