So you are heading for Myrtle Avenue then 
For 27R the Eastern Perimeter Road between the long stay parking area and the engine test bay isn't that bad - at least you have a wide field with obstructed view in front of you and the sun coming in from behind. The only minus are the few lamp posts on the opposite side of the road. You also need to be good at ignoring drivers hooping at you.

Its always the 0600-0700 lottery that gets me. I chose Hatton Cross this morning and got the 380s and 744s, although before 0600 all arrivals were on 27R as per the overnight rotation, saw them in the distance though. Most of the 76s and others landed 27R.
As LN-KGL said above, near the roundabout behind the BA hangers is good for 27R arrivals - and a bonus is that you can get the bus from Hatton Cross (for Myrtle Ave) round to there for free as its part of the free-flow Heathrow scheme.
