Civil Aviation Forum | lockerbie bomber dies
My thoughts are with his family and with the families of the deceased.
Quoting MartinJW12, from a previous postIf a father who's son was one of those lost in the Lockerbie bombing can forgive him and travel to Libya to meet him and become, I use this term loosely, friends, then why cant we?
It's Easier for some than for others, as Is everything I suppose..but I do agree with you.
Not wanting to start a debate, but as a regular reader of Private Eye I can say that the evidence used to convict Al Megrahi was not particularly flawless. There is a chance that he may have been innocent.
Quoting MartinJW12, from a previous postDespite how evil he was. No-one deserves to die and ezpecially not how he did. If a father who's son was one of those lost in the Lockerbie bombing can forgive him and travel to Libya to meet him and become, I use this term loosely, friends, then why cant we? He was simply a man who was lead the wrong way by a certain Colonel Gaddafi.
Everybody dies Martin!!

I note that many of you don't wish to debate this. Fair enough but for the sake of balance I feel a few points do need to be made.
Not sure who you are referring to Martin, but Jim Swire, who lost his daughter at Lockerbie got to know Megrahi. This was due to his belief that Megrahi may have been innocent. See this link.

I think there is so much more to this than just Gaddaffi.I have had grave doubts about Megrahi's conviction from the start. See this;
