According to some sources at MAN Airport, there is an Air Finland plane doing a TCX sub-charter. The crew have just been told.

Ive heard they have gone bankrupt Alan. OH-AFM currently parked on stand 26 at MAN but its not blocked in yet. Doesnt appear to be op the TCX flight it arrived to do tho as G-FCLE is now down to do that albeit with a slight delay!

Correct. They declared themselves bankrupt earlier today and have ceased all operations with immediate effect.

2 of the 4 757's have gone to Fedex OFJ and OFL if i remember correctly, so obviously the 757's still have some years left, which makes me expect the other two will find a new airline quickly

Had the displeasure of dispatching my first, and last Air Finland flight today sad OH-AFM to Perpignan after it failed to operate the TCX charter.

Absolutely gutted for the crew flying the flight, who were rightly fairly upset. Had a good chat with the captain (English bloke) who was telling me about how much of a close 'family' Air Finland is, with there only being 40 or so pilots.

I wish the best of luck to all people affected ...

Blame the bankers who caused this downturn, and then won't extend credit to airlines when they need it.

Astraeus and Air Finland, two good ACMI and charter operators lost. We can only hope that Jet2 bids on the planes as wingleted RR engined 757s are perfect for them.

I hear from other sites that 1,000 tourists may be affected. Hopefully Finnair can step in and move them with their spare capacity, or some other outfit. It is at times like this Air Atlanta Europe as it was is sorely missed
