Emirates is set to operate its A380 superjumbo on a one-off service into Gatwick airport next month.
The news was flagged up by industry website airlineroute.net. Flights EK0015 (departing Dubai at 0800) and EK0016 (departing Gatwick at 1530) on 6th July 6 are both due to be served by an A380 aircraft.

Good news for spotters at LGW.Although judging by posts commenting on LGW unfriendliness toward spotters,close up shots might get to be difficult. I'm a bit confused at the last part of your post,I think you'll find both flights will be the same aircraft.EK015 inbound and EK016 outbound a few hours later.Nevertheless,maybe a suck it and see flight for Emirates.But judging by the proximity of LHR,I doubt it being regular,would be happy to be proved otherwise.

Yes, both inbound and outbound flights will be operated by the same aircraft.
This movement is a one-off, but, if all goes according to plan, LGW will be capable of accommodating A380's on a regular basis in approximately 12 month's time.
