London Heathrow Airport Forum | new to heathrow

hi,
im planning a 2 day break to Heathrow as a novice spotter, never been before, im travelling by train from Cornwall in May,on a budget!!!
can anyone give me some advice????
you must hear this question many times,
ive no idea where to stay, somewhere cheap would be cool!!

I've stayed at the Heathrow Central TravelLodge for a couple of nights spotting in the past. Quick look on their website and rooms can be had for £19/night for most of May. If 27R is in use, planes arrive over the hotel which can be a nice suprise seeing a B744 or A388 fly over.
Tesco express for getting snacks for the day and a fair few places to eat. There is a Hotel Hoppa to the terminals, but buses 105 and 111 from near the Hotel will get you to Heathrow Central, then you can use the FreeFlow buses to get to Terminal 5 if the 09s are in use (09L generally used for arrivals) or to Hatton Cross for Myrtle Avenue arrivals on 27L.
Not the most luxurious hotel, but for less than £20/night its good value. Also used by lots of air crew for overnights

Travelodge T5 is a good place to stay .iv been there 3 times now.Great hotel ,great food,cheap and great for viewing .I can't remember the numbers but there are good rooms for views of the airport,just ring up and they will tell you.I spent most of the day in there then went to myrtle av.
