London Heathrow Airport Forum | Qantas cuts Heathrow routes
The changes will come into operation in early 2012 and enable it to retire four ageing Boeing 747 jets
A statement said: â€śQantas will continue Airbus A380 services from Melbourne and Sydney to London via Singapore, as well as constructing a new premium lounge at Changi International Airport. British Airways will upgrade its London - Singapore - Sydney service from a Boeing 777 to a larger Boeing 747â€ť.

I am probably miles out but Qantas do sometimes do a one-off charter from Manchester - Sydney about late March/May time. Could it be that the aircraft is heading empty up to MAN to pick up some passengers there?
