Thank you for sharing pole hill sid, however I hated that article, I wish they wouldnt make articles about planespotting because they just stereotype us and I felt that that article was simply taking the piss.

I don't like the words plane spotting - I much more prefer aviation enthusiast. The world has moved along as has the techology for us - bins, pencil and paper notepad belongs to the past; now it is DSLR, big lenses, iPad/iPhone, ADS-B receiver, FlightRadar App, LightRoom, forums, online photo databases, Facebook, Twitter, Cloud, ... If you compare our hobby with a number of other hobbies, like playing in brass band, we have moved from being way behind technology wise to being in the forefront of the development. I bet the BBC journalist interviewing the singled out plane spotter had all his questions written down on paper.

Oh yeah, he'll have been specifically picked because, meaning no offence, he fit the stereotype perfectly. I must admit, I do prefer pen and paper for my logs.
