Manchester Airport Forum | Antonov - MAN
Times, Flight Number, From., Reason for visit etc.
Thanks Very Much
Pea
depending on cargo it night not be an Antonov. Could be an Illyushin 76 (even better!).
VDA have the IL76 stretch version built for them with Stage Four compliant engines which can operate inside Europe and the USA. Seen one in the flesh on its first visit to Manchester some years back and it's more interesting on a spotter's basis than an Antonov
VDA have 4 x IL76 in its fleet and one on order and they have 10 X ANT124 and another 5 of them on order at the moment.

Steve
They still use a big crew as it's a freighter with all the same sort of gear as the 124, just a bit smaller. Cranes and stuff.
Quoting ThePeaLauncher, from a previous postLooks like you were wrong Sam VDA1722 is showing at the moment on FLR
Not many AN124 have the ADS-B equipment. We're lucky to have one makes it easier
.
Did anyone else notice that it had stopped showing on FLR24?

I noticed it was invisible on flight radar24.

Quoting dreamweaver, from a previous postJust out of curiosity, what is the An124 bringing/taking out of Man.
It wasn't bringing or taking anything out of MAN - just refuelling after a flight over the Atlantic.
