Anyone got any details for this which somebody mentioned might be coming in on Saturday?
Times, Flight Number, From., Reason for visit etc.

Details in the other thread, but it's a VDA flight so....
depending on cargo it night not be an Antonov. Could be an Illyushin 76 (even better!).
VDA have the IL76 stretch version built for them with Stage Four compliant engines which can operate inside Europe and the USA. Seen one in the flesh on its first visit to Manchester some years back and it's more interesting on a spotter's basis than an Antonov

VDA have 4 x IL76 in its fleet and one on order and they have 10 X ANT124 and another 5 of them on order at the moment.

Oh u know what Roy..... I never even thought about the IL76! It could well be that as i think the antonov has about 20 crew where as the flight on saturday has 15 crew..... its arriving from TUL so does the IL76 have the legs to do it non stop? Am back in work 2moz so may know more 2moz nite

I think it's got pretty long legs, certainly more than the 124 has. The PS90A engines are a lot more fuel efficient so it's like a NG version. The rarity of the thing in the EU is what excites me over whether it could be one, and they do fly them round the USA on charter as they are inside noise limits.
They still use a big crew as it's a freighter with all the same sort of gear as the 124, just a bit smaller. Cranes and stuff.

Can anyone confirm that another AN-124 is due in at man on the 8th August.I'm sure someone wrote its due in on Wednesday at 19.30pm and leaves Thursday morning at 9.00am flight number ABB1778.

hey sjmk it landed today around 19:30 it is apparently going to leave around 11:00am thats what ive been told but im not 100% confirmed on that
