Another Cathay 747 due at around 14.55 before it is finally moved to Bruntingthorpe.

Not showing on FR24 tho!

B-HUI arrived bang on time.

It is one of the final three passenger 747's that were retired from revenue service last month, so it may be the last time we see one landing at Manchester.

With this clear calm weather I noticed that the EK17 A380 looked much lower than usual on it's approached over Stockport. Some other aircraft seem to be using a very short visual approach which is pretty unusual.

We never see the A380s in Wigan. The majority of flights are transatlantic flying east before turning for standard direction landing. The Virgin 747 from Orlando also had a strange path this morning flying over our house from North to South for a landing from the SW, but I've never noticed it before.

Hi everyone.

Does anyone have any info on why the Borajet Embraer 195 is still parked up secure between T2 and the freight apron.

It's been here for nearly two weeks now since it brought in Fenerbache to play United in the Europa League.

Is the airline in financial difficulty?

Cheers in anticipation.

Been a bit out of touch recently, What's this about? Is it regular?
Quote | Reply | Top of Page
This post was edited on Tuesday 3rd January, 2017 at 06:56 GMT
It's a tech stop apparently.
Quote | Reply | Top of Page
This is the second time this has happened recently. The first time it was said it was a crew change. Having been a pax on the service in the past there is nothing unusual about the crewing arrangement that is noticeable, the aircraft is well capable of the range for IAH-FRA and the service is daily, normally without the stop. Anyone know the reason?
Quote | Reply | Top of Page
It's now on it's way for take-off about half an hour late.
Quote | Reply | Top of Page
It was a planned stop, it was on the screens yesterday, so crew change I think.

The Lufti has just left directly followed by the Emirate, an A380 procession and another first here I believe.

Aye, I was watching on FR Spike.

Pity it was cloudy and it turned south or I would have got a view, same with the arrival the clouds got in the way.

Not sure about this one, check out Singapore 52 tomorrow on FR24 380!
Quote | Reply | Top of Page
I can't understand the logic behind a crew change at Manchester en route to Frankfurt. LH serves IAH only on the Frankfurt service. There does not seem to have been any problem on arrivals or departures except there was no flight on Saturday so crew hours do not seem to come into it. Given the cost, the delays to pax, many of whom transit FRA on oil business to the Gulf and are in business class, there must be a a revenue reason for the stop to offset the cost and annoyance to the passengers.
