Photography Forum | 75 rejections for "crop" in 10 minutes !
75 pictures rejected !! There are a BIG problem, sure !
I try to explain (with my awful english, I'm French).
I've taken many Mc Carran/ KLAS pictures from Sunset road, a place VERY close to the runways. Watch on Google Map, and you'll see in any way it's NOT necessary to "crop" the pictures !!!!!!! . I've shooted the planes with a 200mm lens.
So I cannot understand why 75 pictures were rejected due to this reason, it's crazy and wrong to use this reason.
Please explain me what do you mean by "crop", and 'this picture are badly cropped" . In this the way in the future, I will not spend an entire afternoon to sent Plane-Mad some pictures to be rejected quickly for funny reasons....
I think that depending on the screeners who look at the pictures, this one will be accepted or not ... there is not the same rules for all of you?

Take a look at the accepted photo's on this site as a good example of what the screeners are looking for.
Maybe this will help, here is an original (awful) shot taken by myself

Now here it is straightened and cropped

see the difference? That is what you want to aim for; central, straight, and filling the whole frame.
I use picasa to straighten and crop my shots, its made by google and is freeware.

I think some of us should take care not to be too patronising. Freddy already has 419 photos displayed on P-M, so he's not exactly a novice, and I would have thought that he has a pretty good idea of what an acceptable photo looks like!
Quoting plodgeface, from a previous postI can't see what has gone wrong, given the standard of your photos, Philip.
I was a tad mystified as well. Some of his shots are really good and for him to have had 75 pics rejected in the space of 10 minutes just doesn't make sense.
"Freddy already has 419 photos displayed on P-M, so he's not exactly a novice, and I would have thought that he has a pretty good idea of what an acceptable photo looks like! " I entirely agreed !!!
