Hi Dan,
I was just thinking, it takes a lot of time to look through the MAN Forum pages to find when new airlines are starting, and when does this airline switch to twice daily and stuff, like what date TAP starts.

I was thinking maybe if you could set up a folder for each month: Jan '11, Feb '11, Mar '11 etc... then we put info in the relevant month folder, if you get me lol :/
So, if I wanted to know what is coming up in Jun 2011, I would look in that folder, and see that TAP are starting, and would their frequency, a/c type, flt numbers / times, etc...

So, for example...
- TAP starts new services 1st Jun.
So, we could put that info in the June '11 folder, alongside the flight numbers, frequency etc..

- Emirates 3rd daily flight starts 1st May.
Put that info in the May '11 folder, with flight numbers / time / aircraft etc...

Also could put expected unusual or ad-hoc movements under the relevant month folder.
But this info would have to be on a confirmed basis, no rumours or, 'I have heard that'...
No conversations in the folders, just the information.

What do you think Dan?

Nice idea, Or how about a new Forum thread called "movements" where all members can list anything interesting at any airport.

Hi Alan

When I initially set up the threads on the MAN forum, the above you mentioned is how I inteded it to look. It was supposed to be:

Movements:Jan, then, New/views Jan.... etc etc etc

But, it seems to have once again blended all together, with bits of infor everywhere. It takes quite a while to moderate, and I ended having to mod so much, I seemed like one of those dictator mods on proon!

Also, my new thread 'summer 2011 at MAN' was supposed to be a quick ref guide for all concerned, which, now I will mod down and keep it to the sections I have put only.

Hope this helps

Sounds like a good idea.

I think we need an actual section of the site dedicated to this and not just MAN, we could then use many airports - although I think MAN will be the one that gets updated the most.
Think it needs to be seperate from the forum so people can't post messages, just new routes / special flights in a set format. Any discussion / rumours can then stay in the forum.

The page in question can then be just a list of flights and dates without any other comments whatsoever. May need moderating - or even checking before adding like the guide updates now.

Format I'm thinking - you've selected MAN (Info just made up to show examples):

May 11

1st
---
New Service - Emirates 3rd flight - Daily A330 - Arrive 0700, Depart 0900

10th
-----
One Off Charter - Kallitta Air 747 - Arrive 0300, Depart 0700

June 11

1st
----
New Service - TAP to Lisbon - Daily A319 - Arrive 1200, Depart 1300

etc

3 categories of: new service, service ends, one-off charter (or similar) where you can enter start date, arrival, dep times and a description of the service. Any other thoughts?

Great ideas. Would make finding info so much easier.

Very nice, I'm hoping WAW will be used often too, we get plenty of State visits and Military movements. Also some new AC to be operating very soon.

3 cats sounds about right to me, helps keep it nice and simple - not over complexed when moderating.
