Hi all,

I am writing after a 30hrs of travelling. Beyond knackered!

As i stated earlier in the year i would produce a trip report of my travel to Las Vegas. So here goes!

Stayed over at Heathrow on the 22nd of May to catch the early flight to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DWT)

Our flight was on time Delta 767-400ER flight number DL0005 for 09:15 departure.

Our party was in the economy class, poor you see! it was set out in a 2-3-2 pattern and i got the window seat much to Alison's annoyance.

Staff were overly friendly in that American way but it was a breath of fresh air, food was good I had Chicken Marinara.

Flight over Atlantic was smooth until we hit the Canada coast we got a little turbulence but nothing to shout about.

Can you see Toronto?

Landed in Detroit with no issues. I had a 4hr wait for connection to KLAS.

It was first time at this airport alot of the short haul Delta fleet and Long haul were at the airport so took a shed load of pics, only problem was the weather and windows of terminal. It was v.hot and windows had black pots built into them, why? i dont know but not all pics came out sharp.

After abit of spotting we hit our first issue, the connecting flight! The connecting flight was a Delta Boeing 757-200N to KLAS which was delayed due to maintenance!!!!!!! First by two hours but ended up being close to 4hrs!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't normally complain because i would rather arrive safely but we had been travelling for going on 20hrs so tempers were flaring.

We were given a $100 voucher each thats $400 in our party for a Skyteam flight anywhere, not bad from Delta.

We Boarded the 757-200N at 21:30 extremely tired. This aircraft looked like it had been pulled out the graveyard and dusted down interior was shabby!!!!!

We was given pushback around 21:45 to depart straight out, what happened next i couldn't believe the APU cut out which caused panic. When it restarted all we could smell was smoke, not pleasant and worrying but by that time we wanted to get to our destination. Landed in McCarran at around 11:15, in one piece thank god!!!!!!!!!

No photos taken unfortunately, Too Tired!!!!!!

Whilst in Vegas did some spotting at Sunset Rd awesome spot for take-offs and landngs check below. Got my first DC-10 i was over the moon!!!!

I will use Delta again, a great service apart for the one issue with a delayed connection.

First trip report so let me know what you think. Thanks

Thanks from me too, always enjoy reading the trip reports, photo's are great. I like looking at ones taken from inside the terminals and aircraft, really brings home the 'trip' element and almost makes you feel you are there in the airport yourself.

THANKS everyone for the remarks, actually enjoyed doing the report. There will be more in the future.

I will hopefully be uploading some more pics from the day spotting at McCarren. I got a shed load of Southwest Boeing 737's and other domestic flights plus a Hawiian 767.
